emirates7 - Dubai International Chamber, one of the three entities under Dubai Chambers, has officially opened a new representative office in Toronto, Canada. This strategic initiative underscores the chamber’s dedication to deepening economic relations and expanding trade and investment opportunities between Dubai and Canada.
The new office was inaugurated at a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by Maninder Sidhu, Canada’s Minister of International Trade, Eng. Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansoori, Chairman of Dubai Chambers, UAE Ambassador to Canada Abdulrahman Al Neyadi, and members of the Canadian business community.
Marking its first presence in North America, the Toronto office is a significant addition to the chamber’s growing international network and supports the broader “Dubai Global” initiative, which aims to establish 50 international offices by 2030.
Al Mansoori highlighted the importance of the new office, stating that it represents a major step in enhancing Dubai–Canada economic ties. He emphasized that the Toronto office will act as a hub for fostering business connections, encouraging investment flows, and creating new trade opportunities. He also pointed out that Canadian companies can benefit from Dubai’s strategic location and its status as a gateway to global markets.
The office’s opening comes amid a strong upward trend in economic cooperation between the two regions. Non-oil bilateral trade reached AED 10.2 billion last year, while the number of Canadian companies registered with Dubai Chamber of Commerce rose by 29%, totaling 4,112 by the end of 2024. This growth has continued into 2025, with 289 new Canadian businesses joining in the first quarter alone.
The Toronto office is expected to become a key facilitator for business activity between Dubai and Canada. Its team will work closely with Canadian enterprises, build partnerships with influential public and private sector players, and promote Dubai’s advantages as a premier business hub.
In addition to offering Canadian companies tailored market insights and on-the-ground support for launching or expanding operations in Dubai, the office will also help Dubai-based firms explore the Canadian market. It will do so by identifying high-potential sectors, connecting businesses with trustworthy partners, and guiding them through the market entry process to ensure long-term success.
