During the session, the UAE showcased its achievements in the cooling sector, including how cooling is incorporated into its national energy efficiency strategies. It also provided updates on the Global Cooling Commitment, which the UAE co-leads with Brazil in the lead-up to COP30.

This initiative was introduced at COP28 by the UAE Presidency in collaboration with the UN Environment Programme's Cool Coalition. It aims to turn international climate pledges into tangible actions.

In less than 18 months, the commitment has grown significantly, attracting 72 countries and over 80 partners, demonstrating the global community’s capacity to respond rapidly when cooling is prioritized as a key tool in combating climate change.
