Saif bin Zayed launches AI Training Programme for MoI Personnel

emirates7 - H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, attended the signing of a groundbreaking Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that marks the launch of a unique initiative aimed at enhancing artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities among Ministry of Interior (MoI) personnel.

This strategic initiative is the result of a partnership with Inception, a subsidiary of G42, and is being developed in collaboration with the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI).

The MoU was formally signed by Brigadier Dr. Rashid Al Dhakhri, Director-General of Human Resources at the Ministry, representing the MoI, and Andrew Jackson, CEO of Inception, representing the company.

The signing ceremony was also attended by Major General Khalifa Hareb Al Khaili, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior; Peng Xiao, CEO of G42; and a number of senior officers and officials.

This pioneering programme is designed to prepare the MoI’s workforce for the future by equipping them with essential AI skills, practical experience, and a strong understanding of how to apply and innovate with AI technologies in their respective roles.

Structured as a modular programme, the initiative will include intensive workshops, interactive seminars, and hands-on training sessions delivered under the guidance of leading AI experts and practitioners.

Participants will receive a solid foundation in AI principles, explore advanced technologies and their real-world applications in public service, and gain the expertise needed to seamlessly integrate AI into their daily operations.

A key component of the programme is its emphasis on the ethical use of AI, critical thinking, and sound decision-making to ensure the technology is applied responsibly and effectively.

This initiative is a major milestone in the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to cultivate a smart, agile, and future-ready workforce. Created in collaboration with Inception and MBZUAI, the programme is tailored to meet the diverse needs of MoI staff—ranging from strategic leaders to frontline personnel—ensuring widespread AI literacy across the organisation.

By fostering a culture of innovation, lifelong learning, and responsible tech adoption, the initiative aligns with the UAE’s National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence 2031 and underscores the country’s ambition to become a global leader in the ethical and human-centric development of AI.
