The 186km stage, which ran from Viareggio to Castelnovo ne’ Monti, featured the tough ascent of Alpe San Pellegrino, causing significant splits in the peloton. Richard Carapaz (EF Education-EasyPost) claimed the stage victory with a powerful solo attack in the final 6 kilometres.

Del Toro displayed smart racing by sprinting to second place from the chase group, securing crucial bonus seconds that widened his overall lead to 31 seconds ahead of teammate Juan Ayuso. This result puts UAE Team Emirates-XRG in a commanding position heading into today’s flatter stage.

The Emirati squad continues its strong grip on the general classification, with four riders currently occupying places in the top 10.
