ADNOC L&S contributes AED1 billion to UAE economy through In-Country Value in 2024

emirates7 - Captain Abdulkareem Al Masabi, CEO of ADNOC Logistics & Services (ADNOC L&S), underscored the company’s pivotal role in driving industrial excellence and strengthening national capabilities, aligning with the UAE’s broader economic diversification agenda.

Speaking to Emirates News Agency (WAM) during the "Make it in the Emirates" forum, Al Masabi expressed pride in ADNOC L&S’s debut at this prominent national platform. He reiterated the company’s dedication to supporting local manufacturing and fostering innovation within the UAE’s industrial sector.

He shared that ADNOC L&S has initiated the domestic construction of 31 vessels—a move that has generated over 300 jobs and significantly contributed to expanding the country’s industrial base. These vessels are currently engaged in transporting personnel and cargo, as well as providing offshore logistics support, showcasing the company's integral role in boosting local capabilities and operational resilience.

Al Masabi further revealed that in 2024 alone, ADNOC L&S contributed around AED1 billion in in-country value to the UAE economy. This milestone reflects the company’s active collaboration with both federal and local entities to promote domestic manufacturing and industrial progress.

He emphasized that ADNOC L&S’s impact extends beyond economic growth, with a strong focus on adopting cutting-edge technologies and artificial intelligence. One example is the company’s AI-driven SMARTi system, developed in partnership with AIQ—a joint venture between ADNOC and G42. This system provides real-time monitoring and reporting of high-risk scenarios, significantly improving health, safety, and environmental performance.

Al Masabi also highlighted the company’s investment in remote-controlled forklift technology. The software, developed locally by Sinaha Technology, has been successfully integrated into ADNOC L&S equipment, underscoring the company’s support for homegrown innovation and smart industrial applications.

The ADNOC L&S fleet includes locally built vessels, such as those for oil spill response—essential assets for marine protection and operational safety. Al Masabi noted that collaborations with UAE-based shipbuilders like Al Manzel Marine, Al Bawardi Damen, Abu Dhabi Ship Building, Grandweld, and Premier Marine Engineering Services demonstrate the company’s commitment to enhancing national maritime infrastructure and supporting local production capabilities.

At the forum, ADNOC L&S also showcased REGENT’s seaglider—an innovative wing-in-ground effect vehicle that combines elements of both ships and aircraft. Al Masabi described this as a strategic move to promote future local manufacturing. The seaglider, designed to cut carbon emissions, represents a forward-looking solution for sustainable and efficient maritime transport.

On workforce development, Al Masabi emphasized ADNOC L&S’s "People First" strategy, reflecting a strong commitment to cultivating a diverse, highly skilled workforce. The company currently employs over 11,000 professionals, including more than 3,200 seafarers.

He highlighted ongoing efforts to empower Emirati talent and train future maritime leaders through practical, onboard training programmes. In 2024 alone, over 136 trainees from 15 different nationalities took part in these initiatives, with women comprising nearly 20% of participants. Al Masabi reaffirmed ADNOC L&S’s commitment to increasing female representation and fostering the growth of women in maritime careers.
