emirates7 - The Ministry of Economy has announced that AVITA, a Japanese advanced technology company specializing in generative AI and avatar-based solutions, has become the newest member of the NextGen FDI initiative. This program aims to attract innovative global companies to the UAE by offering key market-entry support.
AVITA’s decision to establish operations in the UAE is set to significantly boost the country’s technological ecosystem and align with national goals of becoming a regional and international leader in artificial intelligence.
Guided by its mission to “evolve humanity with avatars,” AVITA leverages various AI technologies to enhance customer service, improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and drive sales growth.
Their customer support system, AVACOM, and educational platform, Ava Training, both utilize avatars that serve as digital likenesses of real people. These tools help businesses and employees overcome physical barriers and more natural, human-like interactions with customers.
AVITA’s CEO, Hiroshi Ishiguro, a renowned expert in human-robot interaction and recipient of the Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Award in 2015, has been involved in several research projects and pilot programs at a UAE-based research center established through a partnership between Dubai Future Lab and the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST).
Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, emphasized that AVITA’s inclusion in the NextGen FDI initiative highlights the UAE’s dedication to attracting visionary companies that push technological boundaries. He noted that AVITA’s innovative avatar solutions not only tackle challenges like labor shortages but also new employment opportunities and foster novel business models, supporting the UAE’s vision of building a diverse, knowledge-based economy ready for the future.
Shogo Nishiguchi, AVITA’s Cofounder and Chief Operating Officer, pointed out that the UAE serves not only as a gateway to the Middle East but also as a strategic hub for the company’s global growth.
AVITA joins a growing group of over 100 firms in fields such as renewable energy, advanced manufacturing, and robotics operating under the NextGen FDI initiative.
