emirates7 - Dubai Basketball have made history by advancing to the ABA League Semi-Finals following a commanding 85-76 victory over Slovenia’s Cedevita Olimpija in Game 3 of the Quarter-Finals at the Coca-Cola Arena.
In their debut season in the league, Dubai’s home team will now take on Serbian powerhouse Partizan in a best-of-three Semi-Finals series, starting on 26th May in Belgrade, with the second game scheduled for 29th May in Dubai.
Dubai Basketball’s steady performance and composure were evident in their stats. They shot an impressive 48.2 percent from the field, outperforming Olimpija’s 40 percent, efficiently capitalizing on every possession by exploiting weaknesses in the Slovenian defense and scoring under pressure.
Coach Jurica Golemac commended the team’s mental readiness and intensity on the court, stating, “Respect to Cedevita Olimpija for an excellent series. We knew this would be our toughest Quarter-Final opponent, but we embraced the challenge. We stepped out to prove we were the stronger team – and we succeeded.”
