UAE, Bahrain explore ways to strengthen collaboration in transport, infrastructure

emirates7 - Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, welcomed Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Bahrain’s Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications. This meeting reflects the two nations’ dedication to enhancing collaboration across various sectors and supporting regional socio-economic progress.

The ministers discussed ways to implement their joint Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on transport, focusing on exchanging technical and administrative expertise, collaborating on national workforce training and capacity building, and advancing joint initiatives in sustainable mobility, autonomous driving, and digital transformation.

They also explored potential cooperation in developing port infrastructure and logistics services, aiming to boost port competitiveness and align with global maritime transport trends.

Al Mazrouei stated, “Our discussions centered on strengthening bilateral ties and creating a partnership model based on sharing knowledge and expertise, alongside developing joint projects that help achieve the region’s strategic objectives. This meeting provided a valuable opportunity to establish advanced partnerships in transport, legislation, and infrastructure, supporting a shared vision for a more connected and sustainable future.”

He also highlighted the strong and deep-rooted relations between the UAE and Bahrain, emphasizing that this historic bond is a key foundation for expanding strategic partnerships across different sectors and fulfilling the leaderships’ ambitions for integrated development that benefits both countries.

Dr. Al Khalifa remarked, “Bahrain has a bold strategy to build an integrated and sustainable transport ecosystem encompassing maritime, air, and land sectors, aligned with the government’s goals and Bahrain’s Vision 2030. Investing in capabilities is crucial, and we look forward to learning from the UAE’s successful experiences in all areas.”

The meeting was also attended by Eng. Hassan Mohammed Al Mansouri, Undersecretary of Infrastructure and Transport Affairs, and Hessa Al Malek, Advisor to the Minister for Maritime Transport Affairs, both from the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure.
