emirates7 - Emirates Food Industries (EFI) showcased its fully integrated production system at the “Make it in the Emirates” event, highlighting its significant contribution to national food security. The company manages an end-to-end supply chain, spanning from animal feed production to dairy product distribution.
As part of a broader national food security strategy, EFI is expanding its operations with new facilities at Khalifa Port. These developments include multiple factories and a silo project designed to boost production capabilities.
In an interview with the Emirates News Agency (WAM), Kholoud Al Nuaimi, Senior Business Excellence Manager at EFI, explained that the company’s operations encompass the entire production cycle—preparation, packaging, and distribution. EFI’s products are distributed to over 31 locations across the UAE and are also exported to French companies that supply the U.S. market.
EFI runs two primary facilities in Abu Dhabi and Jebel Ali, where it manufactures a wide variety of livestock feed for cows and sheep. While the raw materials are imported, all production takes place locally.
According to Al Nuaimi, EFI produces about 7,000 tonnes of feed annually, offering roughly 380 different types for cows and sheep. All packaging materials are produced in-country at the National Bags Factory.
The company supports its own cattle farms in Al Ain, home to 7,000 cows that yield approximately 40 million litres of milk each year. A portion of this milk is processed into dairy products at the National Dairy Farm, completing a fully domestic production cycle.
