emirates7 - At least 60 houses were buried in a landslide in northern Peru, German news agency (dpa) reported.
In the town of Retamas in the province of Pataz, the slopes of a hill slid down and buried the houses under masses of earth, Governor Manuel Llempen said on Tuesday on the radio station RPP.
The extent of the damage is not yet known, a statement from the regional government said.
At least seven people are missing, including three minors, police commissioner Carlos Alberto Valderrama told RPP radio. Four other people have already been rescued, he said. Villagers and miners from a nearby mine continued to search for those trapped.
