emirates7 - Nadia Yaich, Secretary-General of the Tunisia Africa Business Council, praised the UAE's leading role in Africa, describing it as a model for integrated development cooperation. She pointed to the UAE’s significant investments in key sectors such as infrastructure and energy, along with its strong commitment to essential areas like education, healthcare, skills development, and entrepreneurship—particularly targeting youth and women.
Speaking to the Emirates News Agency (WAM) during the "Africa Trade and Investment Forum" held in Tunis, Yaich emphasized that the UAE is a vital partner in advancing inclusive development across various African nations.
She underscored how the UAE's involvement helps strengthen partnerships with local actors across the continent and supports grassroots initiatives that nurture innovation and entrepreneurial ecosystems.
The FITA 2025 forum, taking place in Tunis on May 6 and 7, brings together ministerial delegations and officials from countries including Congo, Nigeria, and Algeria to spotlight investment opportunities. The event, the largest of its kind in Africa this year, includes participation from global financial institutions, more than 1,000 business-to-business meetings, and a wide-ranging exhibition.
Yaich also called for deeper collaboration between Tunisia and the UAE within Africa. She noted that the Tunisia Africa Business Council can play a strategic role by facilitating joint trade missions, establishing platforms for sharing knowledge and expertise, and promoting collaborative investments in development-focused projects. These initiatives, she said, would foster trust and pave the way for enhanced three-way cooperation between Tunisia, the UAE, and African nations.
