emirates7 - TAQA Distribution, a subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi National Energy Company (TAQA), has entered into a strategic partnership with the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), the region’s premier international financial center, to improve utility management services for residential tenants on Al Maryah and Al Reem Islands.
The agreement was formalized in the presence of Omar Al Hashmi, CEO of TAQA Distribution, and Hamad Al Mazrouei, CEO of the ADGM Registration Authority.
Through this collaboration, TAQA Distribution will take over responsibility for billing, payment processing, and customer relationship management related to authority fees, thereby streamlining the tenancy experience for more than 16,000 residents across the two islands.
The initiative involves integrating tenancy-related fees into customized power and water utility bills within ADGM’s system. This approach simplifies every stage of the rental process—from applying for a lease to paying bills and closing accounts—while supporting the Abu Dhabi Programme for Effortless Customer Experience by offering a fully automated, seamless journey.
Over the next year, tenants will be gradually transitioned to the new system, gaining access to more efficient and digitally focused services. TAQA Distribution will also oversee the collection and administration of tenancy contract-related authority fees, further easing the process for residents.
Commenting on the agreement, Omar Al Hashmi said, “Our collaboration with ADGM reinforces our commitment to providing innovative, customer-focused services that boost operational efficiency and enhance service quality. With the integration of advanced technologies and automation, we are redefining how residents manage their utility needs. This is part of a broader vision to eventually unify a range of services across Abu Dhabi into a single, streamlined billing system.”
Hamad Sayah Al Mazrouei added, “This partnership with TAQA Distribution brings a more organized and efficient utility management model to residents of Al Maryah and Al Reem Islands. Incorporating TAQA’s expertise into ADGM’s ecosystem allows us to raise the bar for resident services and experience. It also reflects our ongoing dedication to strategic initiatives that bolster Abu Dhabi’s infrastructure and support its long-term development goals.”
