President of Sri Lanka receives Abdullah bin Zayed, discusses bilateral relations

emirates7 - President Anura Kumara Dissanayake of Sri Lanka welcomed H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the UAE, during his working visit to Colombo.

In the meeting, Sheikh Abdullah conveyed the warm greetings of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to President Dissanayake, along with his best wishes for Sri Lanka’s continued progress and prosperity. President Dissanayake reciprocated by sending his greetings to President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, wishing the UAE ongoing success.

The discussions focused on strengthening bilateral relations across various sectors, building on the already strong and growing ties between the two nations.

Sheikh Abdullah expressed appreciation for the warm welcome and hospitality extended by President Dissanayake, emphasizing the UAE's desire to expand cooperation with Sri Lanka to support the development goals of both countries and enhance the well-being of their citizens. He reiterated the UAE’s commitment to fostering partnerships with friendly nations to promote prosperity, sustainable development, and improved quality of life.

President Dissanayake underscored the strong relationship between the two countries and commended the UAE’s prominent role on both regional and global fronts.

The meeting was attended by key UAE officials, including Minister of State Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh, Assistant Minister for Economic and Trade Affairs Saeed Mubarak Al Hajeri, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Energy and Sustainability Affairs Abdulla Ahmed Balalaa, and UAE Ambassador to Sri Lanka Khaled Nasser Al Ameri.
