Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, UAEV host 3rd EV Majlis

emirates7 - The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (MoEI), in collaboration with UAEV—a joint venture between MoEI and Etihad Water and Electricity aimed at delivering fast and accessible electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure across the UAE—hosted the 3rd EV Majlis on Monday. The event brought together top global EV manufacturers.

Sharif Al Olama, Undersecretary for Energy and Petroleum Affairs at MoEI and Chairman of UAEV, led the discussions. He spotlighted recent advancements in the EV sector, including innovative technologies and progressive policies supporting sustainable transport infrastructure.

Attendees addressed key obstacles in the industry and proposed practical solutions, such as standardizing requirements and expanding the EV charging network. They also exchanged ideas on how to speed up the adoption of electric vehicles in line with the UAE’s Net Zero by 2050 initiative.

Al Olama emphasized that the EV Majlis serves as a vital platform for fostering collaboration between the public and private sectors, helping to accelerate the transition to green mobility.

He stated, “The UAE is firmly dedicated to advancing a sustainable transportation ecosystem and boosting EV adoption. Through the EV Majlis, the Ministry is nurturing a collaborative environment that encourages experience-sharing and problem-solving—key elements in building a more efficient and eco-friendly mobility landscape.

We are focused on elevating the UAE’s position in the electric mobility space by crafting national strategies, utilizing intelligent charging solutions, and forming impactful partnerships with private sector stakeholders.”
