EVIS Abu Dhabi 2025 opens, showcasing future of electric mobility

emirates7 - The 4th edition of the Electric Vehicle Innovation Summit (EVIS) 2025 officially launched today at the ADNEC Centre in Abu Dhabi, hosted by ADNOC Distribution and strategically partnered with the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure. Running through April 23, this year’s event has become the region's leading platform for electric vehicle innovation and sustainable transportation. It attracted top officials, international delegates, and global industry leaders.

The summit is organized by Nirvana MICE, with Abu Dhabi Mobility as the Mobility Partner and UAEV as the Innovation Partner, highlighting the UAE's ongoing commitment to advancing smart, sustainable transport solutions. Eng. Sharif Al Olama, Undersecretary for Energy and Petroleum Affairs at the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, emphasized that EVIS 2025 is the largest and most important EV event in the MENA region. As the event enters its fourth edition, its growing popularity is clear from the rising number of participating companies showcasing groundbreaking innovations, building connections with decision-makers, and leading the charge in sustainable mobility.

In his opening remarks, Al Olama stated, “The UAE has made sustainability a core priority in its national agenda. Guided by the UAE Net Zero 2050 Strategy, the UAE Energy Strategy 2050, and the National Demand-Side Management Programme, we aim to revolutionize energy consumption — and transport is a key driver of this change.” He continued, “To make EV adoption easier, we are expanding the charging station network, eliminating range anxiety for electric vehicle owners. In collaboration with Etihad Water and Electricity, we launched UAEV, a joint venture to establish a nationwide charging infrastructure supporting our EV goals. Moreover, we’re partnering with Bee’ah to develop the region's first electric and hybrid battery recycling facility, promoting circular economy principles.”

Al Olama also highlighted the UAE’s impressive 2024 achievement, ranking first in the Middle East for the highest proportion of electric and hybrid vehicle sales, accounting for nearly 26% of total car sales. With this growth, the UAE projects a reduction of over 400 kilotons of carbon emissions from the transportation sector by 2050. He stressed that realizing green mobility targets requires robust public-private collaboration, further investments in infrastructure, effective supply chain partnerships, and the adoption of cutting-edge technologies.

A key highlight of EVIS Abu Dhabi 2025 is Xpeng UAE’s unveiling of its pioneering air taxi, providing a glimpse into the future of autonomous, vertical electric transport.

The event features several immersive attractions, including an EV Outdoor Test Drive Zone where attendees can experience the latest electric vehicles, and an E-Circuit Zone for live performance demonstrations. The Charging Oasis showcases next-gen charging technologies, while the Market Gateway facilitates meaningful connections among industry leaders.

Additionally, the summit offers a world-class conference program with influential speakers, policymakers, and industry experts discussing vital topics on mobility, energy, and sustainability.

Eng. Naser Ali Al Bahri, CEO of Nirvana MICE, described EVIS Abu Dhabi as “a platform where industry vision becomes reality, driving collaboration, transformation, and sustainable progress across borders and sectors.” He noted that each year, the event grows in global significance, providing a strategic space for public and private sector leaders to shape the future of mobility.
