emirates7 - His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, announced that the UAE’s foreign trade reached an impressive Dh5.23 trillion in 2024, achieving a trade surplus of over Dh490 billion.
Posting on his official X account, Sheikh Mohammed shared that the UAE exported services worth Dh650 billion last year, with digital services making up Dh191 billion—30% of the total service exports.
Referring to the latest figures from the World Trade Organization, he noted that the UAE exported Dh2.2 trillion in goods in 2024, marking a 6% rise from the previous year. The UAE now represents 41% of all merchandise exports from the Middle East, reinforcing its status as the region’s top trading hub.
“In a world grappling with significant economic and commercial pressures, the UAE has consistently chosen a path of openness—fostering connections and facilitating the smooth flow of trade, investment, and people,” Sheikh Mohammed stated.
He emphasized the UAE’s growing role on the global stage: “Today, our nation serves as a crucial link between East and West, and a vibrant center of global commerce. With Allah’s blessing, our journey of advancement will carry on. Under the leadership of the UAE President, we will safeguard these accomplishments and keep building on them.”
He concluded by affirming: “Through our unwavering dedication to openness, trade liberalization, and connecting nations, we remain confident that continued growth and leadership are well within our grasp.”
