FNC, Pakistan’s National Assembly emphasise importance of parliamentary diplomacy to serve national interests

emirates7 - Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC), and Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Speaker of Pakistan’s National Assembly, held discussions aimed at strengthening bilateral and parliamentary collaboration between the UAE and Pakistan in a range of sectors.

Their meeting took place on the sidelines of the inaugural session of the Parliamentary Group in Solidarity with Palestine, held in Istanbul, Turkiye, and reflected the deep-rooted friendship and strategic partnership between the two countries, which is reinforced by their respective leaderships and governments.

During the talks, both sides explored opportunities to deepen parliamentary ties between the FNC and Pakistan’s National Assembly.

They highlighted the significance of activating parliamentary friendship committees to facilitate the exchange of expertise and best practices, promote cooperation in parliamentary forums, align on mutual interests, and coordinate positions on various agenda items during regional and international engagements.

Both speakers also stressed the value of enhancing parliamentary diplomacy as a means to advance national interests and support joint goals.
