Dubai AI Week expands agenda with global events focused on education, haealth

emirates7 - Dubai Future Foundation (DFF) and the Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence (DCAI) have announced the addition of two major events to the inaugural edition of Dubai AI Week, scheduled to take place from April 21 to 25, 2025, under the directives of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai.

The newly added events—the 8th International Conference on Education Quality and the HIMSS Executive Summit 2025—underscore DFF’s commitment to boosting collaboration between the public and private sectors to drive the practical implementation of artificial intelligence across various fields.

Dubai AI Week will gather a global audience of AI leaders, experts, professionals, and senior representatives from leading AI-focused organisations. Main activities will be held at the Museum of the Future and AREA 2071 at Emirates Towers.

The International Conference on Education Quality, organised by the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs – Dubai in partnership with the Emirates Academy for Identity and Citizenship, will take place from April 22 to 24 at the Grand Hyatt Dubai and the Directorate’s headquarters. This year’s theme, “Artificial Intelligence Innovations: Future Visions in Empowering Public Institutions and Enhancing Education Quality,” will focus on promoting AI research and applications in education and the public sector both locally and internationally.

Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director-General of the General Directorate, stated that the UAE is dedicated to forging strategic partnerships and reinforcing its leadership in AI innovation, in line with national priorities. He noted that integrating AI into education will play a key role in enhancing the skills and knowledge of future generations.

He added that the Artificial Intelligence Innovations Conference aims to support education and innovation in public institutions, and will feature prominent AI experts, researchers, and policymakers. The event will include panel discussions with top global companies, presentations of over 200 research papers, the launch of the AI Innovation Lab, and the signing of key strategic agreements.

Dubai AI Week will also feature a rich programme of events including the AI Retreat, the Dubai Assembly for AI, the Global Prompt Engineering Championship, the Machines Can See Summit, the Dubai AI Festival, the AI Week Hackathon, and AI Week in Schools. The Week is designed to spotlight AI’s transformative potential across sectors such as government, industry, education, healthcare, startups, and technology.

The HIMSS Executive Summit 2025, organised by the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) with support from the Dubai Health Authority and Emirates Health Services, is set for April 23 at Jumeirah Emirates Towers. This high-level summit will explore transformative technologies in healthcare, focusing on generative AI, genomics, precision medicine, and digital health innovations.

Ronan O’Connor, Managing Director of HIMSS EMEA, expressed pride in the Summit’s inclusion in Dubai AI Week, noting that it will bring together senior health leaders from across the Middle East to explore AI’s role in shaping the future of healthcare.

Overall, Dubai AI Week 2025 will highlight the city’s strategic vision for artificial intelligence and its commitment to leveraging AI to drive innovation, in alignment with the Dubai Universal Blueprint for Artificial Intelligence.
