emirates7 - Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Defence, Interior, and Foreign Affairs Committee of the Federal National Council (FNC), held a meeting with David McAllister, Chair of the European Parliament Committee on Foreign Affairs, at the FNC headquarters in Abu Dhabi.

The two sides explored ways to enhance parliamentary cooperation between the FNC and the European Parliament, underscoring the importance of building stronger ties on matters of shared interest, in alignment with the robust partnership between the UAE and the European Union.

Dr. Al Nuaimi highlighted the significance of advancing dialogue and collaboration between parliamentary bodies, emphasizing the value of exchanging expertise to strengthen legislative work and unify positions on regional and international issues.

He also noted that parliamentary diplomacy plays a crucial role in fostering international partnerships, promoting stability and development, and advancing the shared interests of nations and their people.

McAllister, in turn, emphasized the importance of deepening parliamentary ties with the FNC through greater cooperation and knowledge exchange, especially in light of current global challenges.

Several members of the FNC also attended the meeting.
