emirates7 - Lana Nusseibeh, the UAE Assistant Minister for Political Affairs, held a meeting with Dr. Musalia Mudavadi, Kenya’s Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, to discuss the strengthening of bilateral relations between the UAE and Kenya. The discussions focused on enhancing people-to-people connections and expanding cooperation in various sectors.

The meeting, which took place during the London Sudan Conference, also touched upon the ongoing crisis in Sudan. Both sides exchanged views on regional efforts to facilitate a political resolution. They emphasized the importance of collaborating with African partners, including the African Union (AU) and the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD). The UAE reiterated its support for African-led solutions to regional crises, especially in Sudan.

Nusseibeh reiterated the UAE’s stance, highlighting the critical role of the African Union in achieving a ceasefire in Sudan and facilitating a transition to a civilian-led government. She also stressed the need for stronger action from institutions like the United Nations against the weaponisation of humanitarian aid.

The UAE delegation included Mansour Belhoul, the UAE Ambassador to the United Kingdom.
