AQU opens Quran memorisation schools in Uganda, Kenya , Comoros

emirates7 - Professor Jamal Salem Al Tarifi, President of Al Qasimia University (AQU), officially opened several Quran memorisation schools across Uganda, Kenya, and the Comoros, in line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to establish such schools in Africa.

In the capital city of Moroni, Comoros, the "Rifqa Knowledge School" was inaugurated, named in honor of the late Al Qasimia University student, Rifqa Yousef. The event was attended by Juma Rashid Al Rumaithi, UAE Ambassador to the Comoros, and several senior government officials. The school will offer Quran memorisation sessions, and its library will feature publications provided by the Kalimat Foundation in Sharjah.

President Osman Ghazali of Comoros warmly welcomed the AQU delegation, expressing gratitude for the UAE's significant support. He also conveyed appreciation to H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi for his continuous contributions to development and education in Comoros, highlighting his charitable and humanitarian efforts.

In Kenya, Professor Al Tarifi inaugurated AQU’s Quran Memorisation School in Nairobi, where he met with Dr. Salem Ibrahim Al Naqbi, UAE Ambassador to Kenya and Permanent Representative to the United Nations Office in Nairobi. He also met with AQU graduates who expressed their thanks for the university’s pivotal role in shaping their academic and intellectual growth and reaffirmed their commitment to promoting moderation within their communities.

Additionally, Professor Al Tarifi opened several Quran memorisation schools in Kampala, Uganda, where he met with AQU graduates who shared their success stories in education and community service. They noted that the values taught at AQU have guided them in their professional lives.

These initiatives reflect AQU's dedication to spreading Islamic knowledge, human values, and fostering cultural exchange, contributing to greater harmony and understanding between diverse cultures.

Professor Al Tarifi’s tour was accompanied by Dr. Zakaria Nouh, Director of the Office of International Relations and Student Recruitment, and Professor Omar Al Ali, Head of the University's Passports Department.
