Maktoum bin Mohammed: Dubai FinTech Summit reflects Mohammed bin Rashid’s vision of establishing Dubai

emirates7 - The Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) will host the third edition of the Dubai FinTech Summit on May 12 and 13, 2025, at Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai, under the theme "FinTech for All." The event, held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Finance, and President of DIFC, will bring together global industry leaders, innovators, and policymakers to explore the latest trends and developments shaping the FinTech sector.

H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed emphasized that the Summit aligns with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to position Dubai as a leading global financial hub. The event is expected to attract over 8,000 attendees, including 300 speakers from more than 100 countries, along with over 1,000 investors and top decision-makers. This highlights Dubai’s strategic role in shaping the future of global finance and reinforces its status as a prime destination for businesses and entrepreneurs. The Summit also supports the Dubai Economic Agenda D33’s goal to make Dubai one of the world’s top four financial centers by 2033.

The global FinTech sector is rapidly expanding, with projected revenues reaching $1.5 trillion by 2030, representing around 7% of the financial services market. This growth is driven by innovations in artificial intelligence, blockchain, and digital banking, creating new opportunities for financial institutions and tech companies globally.

The Dubai FinTech Summit will focus on the future of finance, financial innovation, and regulatory compliance, while addressing challenges and opportunities within the sector. Topics such as blockchain technology, AI-driven services, and digital banking will be discussed, along with investment trends, global economic shifts, and cross-border regulations.

Essa Kazim, Governor of DIFC, highlighted that the Summit showcases the vast opportunities available to AI, FinTech, and innovation companies that establish themselves in Dubai. DIFC continues to foster an environment of innovation, solidifying Dubai’s position as a global hub for FinTech talent and investment.

The Summit will also feature an exhibition with 200 exhibitors, and for the first time, it will incorporate the Future Sustainability Forum, aligned with the theme "FinTech for All." This will emphasize accessibility, inclusivity, and empowerment within the financial sector.

Distinguished speakers at the event will include Marko Primorac, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of Croatia; Gilles Roth, Minister of Finance of Luxembourg; Timothy Adams, President and CEO of the Institute of International Finance (IIF), USA; Tony O Elumelu, Chairman of United Bank for Africa and Founder of the Tony Elumelu Foundation, Nigeria; and Vijay Shekhar Sharma, Founder and CEO of Paytm, India.

The exhibition will also feature start-up and country pavilions to showcase the latest solutions from both emerging and established players.
