Bollywood star Randeep Hooda on his upcoming movie 'Jaat'

emirates7 - As the much-awaited film Jaat gears up for its release on April 10, excitement is building around its stellar cast, which includes Randeep Hooda, Viineet Kumar Siingh, and Sunny Deol. The film is helmed by director Gopichand Malineni and jointly produced by Mythri Movie Makers and People Media Factory.

Randeep Hooda, who portrays the antagonist Rana Tunga, shared his thoughts on the significance of the film's title.

"In Jaat, the term isn’t limited to a community, a person, or a profession—it represents an emotion," he said. "The Jat people are known for their bravery, sense of justice, honesty, patriotism, and intense emotions—from anger to love. Being a Jat myself, I initially wondered why I wasn’t playing a Jat character. But then I found out Sunny Sir was cast in that role, and I was just grateful to be part of this project as Rana Tunga."

He added, "At its core, the movie is a tribute to the Jat spirit, and I'm proud to be involved in telling that story."

Known for his physically demanding roles, Hooda also spoke candidly about his recent knee surgery and the challenges of bouncing back for an action-heavy film.

"When you're losing weight due to a role and not getting enough nutrition, it affects your health," he explained. "But that was part of what the character needed. Despite the pain and physical strain, it felt liberating to return to action films—especially one like this. I pushed through the discomfort and truly enjoyed the experience."

Viineet Kumar Siingh, who has earned praise for his work in films like Chhaava and Superboys of Malegaon, also shared his enthusiasm for joining Jaat.

"When I found out Sunny Sir was in the film, I said yes instantly. I didn’t even wait to read the script," he revealed. "Getting a chance to work with him was all the reason I needed."

He added, "I met director Gopichand Malineni, who gave me a brief narration. Within ten minutes, I was on board and ready to start."

Both Hooda and Kumar Siingh emphasized that while critical acclaim matters, the ultimate success of a film lies in how it resonates with the audience.

"The box office numbers tell you how many people actually showed up to watch the film. That’s the real reward," said Hooda. "It’s the audience’s love and appreciation that matter most."

Kumar Siingh agreed, noting, "Cinema is for the people. When they connect with the story, that’s the truest validation, whether it’s deemed a hit or not."

They also stressed the importance of trusting the director's vision throughout the filmmaking journey.

Hooda, who recently directed Swatantrya Veer Savarkar in 2024, shared, "As an actor, it’s important to have complete faith in your director. You can bring ideas and insights, but in the end, the director’s vision should shape the film. That’s what ensures coherence and quality."

Kumar Siingh echoed the sentiment: "My role is to surrender to the director’s vision. I come prepared and offer suggestions, but the final call is the director’s. They’re the captain of the ship."

Fans got their first glimpse of Jaat through its action-packed trailer released in March 2025. A standout moment features Sunny Deol delivering a throwback to his iconic Damini (1993) dialogue: “Ye dhaai kilo ke haath ki taakat pura north dekh chuka hai, ab south dekhega.”

(The north has already witnessed the power of this two-and-a-half-kilo arm. Now it’s the south’s turn.)

The nostalgic nod to one of Bollywood’s most memorable lines has only intensified the anticipation, with audiences eager to see what Jaat has in store.
