emirates7 - The UAE National Programme for Artificial Intelligence has unveiled the sixth cohort of its Artificial Intelligence Programme, designed to align with the UAE government's strategic goals and enhance the country's leadership in the global technology arena.
The initiative focuses on empowering exceptional national talent by providing them with the latest tools, knowledge, and opportunities to explore emerging global trends in artificial intelligence, including generative AI. In collaboration with the University of Birmingham in the UK, the programme will run from May to September 2025.
This programme aims to strengthen participants' technical expertise, targeting employees from government, semi-government, and private sector organizations. It seeks to enhance their skills in advanced technology applications, particularly in AI.
Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, stressed that the UAE government’s vision is centered around shaping the future with the expertise and innovation of its skilled national workforce. AI plays a crucial role in the UAE's digital transformation, and this programme is a key part of the country's strategy for future growth, positioning it to lead global technological trends and groundbreaking solutions to emerging challenges.
The programme will introduce participants to artificial intelligence and generative AI, explore AI adoption trends, large language models, and security challenges, and provide practical applications relevant to participants' sectors.
The curriculum consists of five modules: an introduction to AI, generative AI, data strategies for machine learning, studies on generative models, and the implementation of generative AI technologies. The goal is to empower a new generation of innovators who will drive the digital future and help navigate the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
This cohort features distinguished global experts, including Professor Nigel Mehdi from the University of Oxford, Professor Kashif Rajpoot from the University of Birmingham, Dr. David Johnson from Uppsala University, Sweden, and Dr. Farah Shamout from NYU Abu Dhabi.
More than 370 graduates from over 100 organizations have completed previous cohorts, holding leadership roles such as Chief AI Officer and contributing to innovative AI projects. Employees from government, semi-government, and private sectors interested in the programme can register through the official website: https://ai.gov.ae/ai-program/.
