emirates7 - Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan began his first official visit to India on Tuesday, April 8, according to the Dubai Media Office. The two-day visit, taking place at the invitation of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, will conclude on April 9.
Upon his arrival in India, Sheikh Hamdan was warmly welcomed at the airport by Suresh Gopi, India’s Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas and Tourism.
Throughout the visit, Sheikh Hamdan is scheduled to engage in high-level discussions with senior Indian officials to explore ways of deepening UAE-India cooperation. The primary focus of the visit is to further strengthen the strategic partnership and identify new opportunities for collaboration between the two nations.
On April 8, Prime Minister Modi is set to host a working lunch in honour of the Dubai Crown Prince. Sheikh Hamdan will also hold meetings with India’s External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.
The second day of the visit will take Sheikh Hamdan to Mumbai, where he will attend a business roundtable featuring leading entrepreneurs and industry figures from both countries.
Ties between India and the UAE have grown significantly in recent years under the leadership of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Prime Minister Modi. Earlier in 2024, the UAE President received a warm welcome during his visit to Gujarat to attend the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit as its chief guest.
Previously, on September 8, 2023, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan also visited India. During his trip, he met with Prime Minister Modi on September 9 to discuss a wide range of bilateral issues and paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat.
