Khalifa University rises to 7th spot globally in Petroleum Engineering

emirates7 - Khalifa University of Science and Technology has announced that it is ranked first in the UAE in 10 subjects in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2025. Notably, its Petroleum Engineering program has risen to 7th place, maintaining a position in the global top 10 for three consecutive years.

The university has also made significant progress in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, moving up to 102nd place. Its overall Engineering and Technology ranking improved to 107th this year, up from 129th, placing it near the top 100.

Several subjects saw notable improvements, including Mathematics, which moved from the top 250 to 127th, while Physics and Astronomy advanced from the top 400 to the top 300. Biological Sciences also saw a rise, reaching the top 500.

In Computer Science and Information Systems, the university ranked 156th, and it maintained a spot among the global top 200 for two consecutive years in Mechanical, Aeronautical and Manufacturing Engineering, Chemical Engineering, and Civil and Structural Engineering.

Khalifa University is the only institution in the UAE to be ranked in Materials Science, placing in the top 250 range. Chemistry and Environmental Sciences continued to rank in the top 300, while Medicine retained its position for the third consecutive year.

For the first time, the university also ranked in Arts and Humanities, reflecting its expansion into a broader range of academic disciplines.

This year’s rankings, which analyzed over 5,200 institutions globally, further solidify Khalifa University’s status as a prominent center for research and academic excellence on the international stage.
