Emirati Doctor's Day: Honouring doctors' efforts in promoting public health

emirates7 - The United Arab Emirates celebrates Emirati Doctor's Day every year on March 11, honoring the dedication of local doctors and their crucial role in advancing the nation's healthcare system.

This day is devoted to recognizing Emirati doctors who provide exceptional healthcare services and contribute significantly to the improvement of public health, reflecting the UAE's progress in creating a world-class healthcare system.

In a statement to the Emirates News Agency (WAM), Dr. Rashed Obaid Al Suwaidi, Director-General of the Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre, commended Emirati doctors for their innovation and exceptional expertise in addressing global health challenges, highlighting their vital role in safeguarding the health of the UAE population.

He emphasized the need for resilient healthcare systems capable of managing crises, noting that Emirati doctors have shown outstanding competence in crisis response and disease prevention.

Prof. Humaid bin Harmal Al Shamsi, CEO of Burjeel Cancer Institute and President of the Emirates Oncology Society, acknowledged the ongoing support from UAE leadership to Emirati doctors, particularly through various scholarship programs.

Dr. Aysha Almentheri, Consultant Gynecology at Burjeel Medical City, expressed her gratitude for the leadership’s steadfast support, which enabled her to receive advanced training in France and improve her ability to provide high-quality care to women.
