The event was attended by Sheikh Saud bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Director-General of SDD, and Lamia Al Hosan Al Shamsi, Director of SDD, along with representatives from various government entities.

Held under the theme “Shaping Our Digital Future Together,” the forum marked a key milestone in Sharjah’s digital transformation journey. It underscored SDD’s commitment to strengthening communication and integration across government departments, paving the way for a more advanced digital ecosystem.

Serving as a dynamic platform for showcasing achievements, exchanging ideas, and fostering an innovation-driven environment, the forum aimed to support sustainable development throughout the emirate.

In his keynote address, Al Qasimi highlighted that the event comes at a crucial moment for SDD, following notable advancements. It is the first forum to take place since the adoption of the new law governing the department and the launch of its new corporate identity, reinforcing its dedication to leading Sharjah’s digital transformation.

He explained that under the revised legal framework, SDD is committed to positioning Sharjah as a top-tier smart city by equipping government entities with digital expertise, streamlining operations, and building a seamless, integrated digital infrastructure.

Additionally, he emphasized the critical role of cybersecurity in digital transformation, leading to the establishment of the Sharjah Cyber Security Centre. This initiative aims to develop a comprehensive security framework, implement stringent policies and standards for data protection, raise public awareness of cyber threats, and a safer digital landscape.

The forum’s agenda featured a series of insightful presentations and discussions aligned with its strategic objectives. These sessions focused on building trust in SDD as a leader in digital transformation, driving government innovation, and introducing officials to the department’s expanded responsibilities under the new law.

Participants also explored the department’s digital services and solutions, examining their role in accelerating Sharjah’s digital transformation while ensuring seamless coordination across government entities. The discussions further underscored the importance of adopting digital enablers to enhance efficiency and elevate user experiences in government services.

The event began with a keynote presentation by Majid Almadhloum, SDD’s advisor, who outlined the emirate’s digital transformation strategy—a roadmap designed to achieve a smarter and more efficient future for government services in Sharjah.

Additionally, the forum featured a collaborative discussion between the Sharjah Digital Department and the Human Resources Department titled “Building Digital Capabilities.” This session focused on equipping young professionals with advanced digital skills to prepare them for future workforce demands.

Interactive activities were also integrated into the event, encouraging creativity and innovation while inspiring participants to develop sustainable solutions for ongoing digital progress.

The forum concluded with a strong emphasis on intergovernmental collaboration, highlighting the necessity of integrating digital enablers into government operations to drive efficiency and future-proof the emirate’s digital ecosystem.
