emirates7 - The Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Medical and Educational Sciences has announced the winners of its 2024 educational awards, recognizing outstanding contributions to education both locally and internationally. The awards celebrate individuals, schools, and institutions that have made significant advancements in educational practices and have supported gifted students.
Humaid Mohammed Al Qatami, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, expressed admiration for the exceptional efforts of students, teachers, educators, schools, and organizations that have demonstrated a strong commitment to educational excellence. He took pride in the achievements of the 42 local winners, who have exemplified perseverance and a drive for distinction.
Al Qatami thanked Sheikh Rashid bin Hamdan Al Maktoum, the Supreme President of the Foundation, as well as the Board of Trustees and Executive Management, for their support, and also commended the judging panel and partners for their role in this cycle’s success.
A total of 194 participants from across the UAE competed in six categories at the local level, with 42 winners recognized for their outstanding achievements. The winners in various categories included:
Education Supporting Institutions: Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives Foundation for the "Madrasa E-Learning Platform" and the Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority for its innovative educational project.
Distinguished Schools: Um Ghafa Secondary School in Al Ain and GEMS Millennium School in Sharjah.
Distinguished Educators: Sama Mohammed Ali Al Dhahli, Maryam Hussein Al Loghani, Sheikha Salem Al Hafiti, and Huda Saeed Al Dhohouri.
Distinguished Teachers: Hanan Mahmoud Mousa Bouadi and Wafaa Eid Shahada Abu Qudairi.
Distinguished Undergraduate University Students: Meera Abdullah Ahmed Al Harmoudi (University of Sharjah), Khalid Abdul Fattah Ahmed Qazali (UAE University), and Hamed Abdullah Ali Al Bastaki (Khalifa University).
On the international level, the Foundation revealed the results of the World Giftedness Center Awards, which included two categories: the Applied Research Global Award of Gifted Education and the School Global Award Initiative of Gifted Education. The winning research, "Teachers’ Attitudes Toward Gifted Students and Their Education: Patterns and Determinants," was conducted by Australian researchers Jay Yip Yang and Jiheon Lee. Two initiatives from Saudi Arabia and India were recognized for their innovative practices in supporting gifted students.
