emirates7 - The fourth Middle East edition of Relay For Life (RFL) is set to take place in Sharjah on January 25–26 at the American University of Sharjah (AUS). This inspiring event brings together individuals from all backgrounds to celebrate cancer survivors, remember those lost to the disease, and raise critical funds for life-saving treatments.
Organized by Friends of Cancer Patients (FOCP) in partnership with the American Cancer Society, the event emphasizes that every lap walked and every donation made contributes to supporting cancer patients and their families.
This year’s Relay For Life features six specialized zones, each offering a range of activities designed to engage participants of all ages, fostering a strong sense of community, meaningful experiences, and memorable fun.
The Main Stage Zone will host activities aimed at inspiring and uniting attendees, while the Track Zone will serve as the heart of the event, encouraging participants to connect, express themselves, and embrace the spirit of Relay For Life through themed laps.
In the General Activities Zone, attendees can partake in a variety of games and friendly competitions, including tug of war, sack races, giant Jenga, foosball, and air hockey, ensuring excitement for all.
The Adults Workshops Zone invites participants to explore their creative sides through accessory making, canvas painting, and mosaic jar crafting, while the Kids Workshops Zone promises to spark children’s imaginations with arts and crafts, hair braiding, nail art, glitter tattoos, and face painting. Additionally, the Kids Play Area Zone will offer endless fun for younger participants, featuring bouncy castles and other playful attractions.
This year’s Relay For Life is dedicated to making a real impact on the lives of those affected by cancer. By joining a community of survivors, caregivers, volunteers, and supporters, participants can help a brighter future for patients and their families while sharing in a collective spirit of hope and resilience.
