emirates7 - The inaugural session of the "Gulf Bridges – Gulf Youth Leadership Programme" began on Sunday. Organized by Sharjah Children and Sajaya Young Ladies of Sharjah, both part of the Rubu’ Qarn Foundation for Creating Future Leaders and Innovators, the programme welcomed 40 young participants from youth delegations across Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.
In a recorded message, H.H. Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, wife of the Ruler of Sharjah and President of the Rubu’ Qarn Foundation, warmly welcomed the participants to Sharjah, an emirate known for its dedication to human development, thought, and culture, with the goal of inspiring future generations.
H.H. Sheikha Jawaher stated, "This gathering is not just a meeting but a rethat embodies the authentic values uniting our Gulf peoples and strengthens the bonds of brotherhood. Even if the sole result of this gathering is the establishment of strong fraternal relationships, it will still be a success."
The opening ceremony took place at the Holy Quran Academy in Sharjah, attended by leaders and heads of local and Emirati community organizations.
Hanan Al Mahmoud, a board member of the Rubu’ Qarn Foundation, emphasized that the programme is a unique model for Gulf cooperation in fostering young leaders. She urged participants to lead with clarity and identity, pursue their passions, and persevere with determination, reminding them that true leaders are made through effort and resolve.
On behalf of the delegations, Zaid Fahad Al-Otaibi from Kuwait expressed gratitude to the UAE and Sharjah for hosting the programme. He said, "We come together with a shared goal: to build bridges of cooperation among youth leaders and cultivate a Gulf generation that fulfills the aspirations of our nations' governments."
The opening ceremony also recognized key partners, including representatives from the Holy Quran Academy, Sharjah Municipality, and the Federal Youth Foundation, as well as heads of delegations from GCC countries.
The event concluded with a keynote session titled "The Launch of Greatness," presented by training consultant Mohammed Al-Khalidi, who outlined key leadership principles and strategies for performance enhancement.
The "Gulf Bridges – Gulf Youth Leadership Programme," approved at the 37th meeting of the GCC Ministers of Youth and Sports Committee, aims to strengthen Gulf unity and develop future leaders. The programme seeks to prepare young leaders in line with the visions of GCC governments, empowering them to contribute to a sustainable future for the Arab Gulf states.
