Return of two NASA astronauts to Earth delayed again

emirates7 - NASA announced on Tuesday that two of its astronauts aboard the International Space Station (ISS), Sunita Williams and Barry Wilmore, will have their stay extended once more. The pair, initially scheduled for only a week-long mission, has been stranded on the ISS since June due to technical problems with their Starliner spacecraft.

Their return was initially expected in February 2025. However, NASA revealed that the launch of their replacements has been postponed.

"NASA's SpaceX Crew-10 is now aiming for no earlier than late March 2025 to send four crew members to the International Space Station," the agency stated. The delay allows NASA and SpaceX additional time to finalize preparations on a new Dragon spacecraft for the mission.

Williams and Wilmore, part of the Crew-9 mission, will return to Earth after Crew-10 arrives at the ISS.

In the meantime, NASA confirmed that the ISS is fully stocked with essential supplies, including food, water, clothing, and oxygen, following two recent resupply missions in November.
