The 32-team competition will use the same qualification slot allocation as the 2023 edition. UEFA, Europe’s governing body, will have 11 direct spots, while the AFC (Asia) will secure six, CAF (Africa) and CONCACAF (North America) will each have four, CONMEBOL (South America) will receive three, and the OFC (Oceania) will have one.
The remaining three spots will be decided through a 10-team playoff, which will take place in two stages between November 2026 and February 2027.
