emirates7 - The UAE Field Hospital in Gaza continues to deliver critical medical care to Palestinian patients around the clock as part of Operation Chivalrous Knight 3, a humanitarian initiative aimed at addressing the crisis in the region.
Since its opening on December 2, 2023, the hospital has treated over 48,700 patients, including men, women, and children. More than 1,780 surgeries have been performed, ranging from minor to complex procedures in areas such as orthopaedics, neurology, and general surgery.
In addition to the hospital's efforts, the UAE has strengthened Gaza's healthcare infrastructure by donating ten ambulances and 400 tonnes of medical supplies.
The facility is equipped with surgical theatres capable of performing a wide range of operations, intensive care units for adults and children, and specialised clinics offering services in internal medicine, dentistry, orthopaedics, psychiatry, paediatrics, gynaecology, and family medicine. Advanced diagnostic tools, including CT scanners, X-rays, and laboratory services, enable comprehensive treatment in accordance with international medical standards.
Staffed by highly skilled healthcare professionals and volunteers, the hospital also features a prosthetics centre, providing advanced orthopaedic equipment, high-quality prosthetic limbs, and rehabilitation services.
Established under the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the hospital was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the Emirates Red Crescent, the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, and the Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation. This initiative underscores the UAE’s commitment to supporting Gaza’s healthcare sector during critical times.
