Abu Dhabi Maritime Awards honours leading facilities across MENAT region

emirates7 - Abu Dhabi Maritime, a division of AD Ports Group, announced the winners of the 2024 Abu Dhabi Maritime Awards (Marinas Edition) during a ceremony at the Abu Dhabi International Boat Show (ADIBS), in collaboration with the Integrated Transport Centre (ITC).

The awards recognized outstanding achievements, innovative initiatives, and visionary leadership in marinas across the Middle East, North Africa, and Türkiye (MENAT region).

In the Customer Experience category, D-Marin Göcek from Türkiye won the gold award, followed by Dubai Creek, UAE with silver, and Jeddah Yacht Club, KSA with bronze.

For the Employer Excellence award, Palm Jumeirah Marina, UAE took the gold, while Yas Marina, UAE earned silver, and Aldar Marinas, UAE won bronze.

Dubai Harbour, UAE claimed the gold Health and Safety award, with Palm Jumeirah Marina, UAE securing silver and Emirates Palace Marina, UAE receiving bronze.

In the Innovation category, Yas Marina, UAE won the gold award, with Dubai Harbour, UAE taking silver, and The Pearl Island Marina, Qatar winning bronze.

The gold Sustainability award went to D-Marin Didim, Türkiye, with The Pearl Island Marina, Qatar earning silver, and Ayla Marina, Jordan receiving bronze.

The prestigious gold Outstanding Marina award for overall achievement was awarded to D-Marin Turgutreis, Türkiye, with D-Marin Göcek, Türkiye taking silver and D-Marin Didim, Türkiye earning bronze.

A special recognition for the Most Popular Marina, voted by the public, was awarded to Ayla Marina, Jordan, with The Pearl Island Marina, Qatar securing silver and Abu Dhabi Marine, UAE winning bronze.

This year’s Abu Dhabi Maritime Awards saw an overwhelming response, with 120 submissions from marinas in eight countries—three times the number of entries from the previous year. This increase reflects the growing importance of the awards within the regional maritime industry.

Dr. Saif Al Nasri, Undersecretary of the Department of Municipalities and Transport, emphasized that the awards align with Abu Dhabi’s commitment to advancing the maritime sector and recognizing achievements in service quality, health, safety, sustainability, and innovation, solidifying the emirate’s status as a leading global maritime hub.

Captain Saif Al Mheiri, CEO of Abu Dhabi Maritime and Chief Sustainability Officer at AD Ports Group, stated that the goal of the awards is to inspire progress, promote regional marinas, and set new standards of excellence within the maritime sector.
