emirates7 - President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has issued Federal Decree No. 27 of 2024, establishing the UAE Aid Agency under the International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council. The agency will have an independent legal status and the authority to operate autonomously.
The agency’s role is to implement foreign aid initiatives, focusing on disaster relief, early recovery, post-conflict stabilization, development programs, and capacity building. It will plan, oversee, and monitor government-supported humanitarian efforts in line with the country's international policies on humanitarian affairs.
In remarks marking the agency's formation, His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Deputy Prime Minister, highlighted that the creation of the UAE Aid Agency continues the humanitarian legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. He emphasized that the UAE remains committed to addressing global humanitarian challenges and promoting sustainable development under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
