ADAFSA launches new fodder market application

emirates7 - The Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) has launched a new version of the Fodder Market app, coinciding with the first anniversary of the Fodder Market initiative. This updated version, created in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Government Services Centre (TAMM), aims to enhance the efficiency of the livestock sector.

The upgraded app is designed to support registered livestock owners across the UAE by providing access to high-quality feed at competitive prices. It serves as a comprehensive digital platform offering a variety of herbal and concentrated animal feeds. Users can easily order their desired products, which are delivered promptly. The app allows users to compare prices from different suppliers to find the best deals and offers secure, flexible payment options.

One of the key features of the app is its simplified purchasing process, enabling breeders to complete their orders in under 15 minutes. With the capacity to serve over 40,000 breeders and accommodate more than 5 million livestock across the UAE, the app not only meets the demand for animal feed but also provides safe and sustainable solutions for local feed companies to access the market. The feed trade in the UAE is valued at more than AED 2.5 billion, with an annual volume of around 3 million tonnes.

The introduction of the Fodder Market app is anticipated to stimulate trade and encourage fair competition among suppliers, thereby fostering growth in the feed market. Saeed Al Bahri Salem Al Ameri, the Director-General of ADAFSA, expressed satisfaction with the partnership with TAMM, stating that the app represents a significant advancement in the agricultural sector. He noted that the app is designed to streamline operations for livestock breeders, saving them time and effort while aligning with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan to position the UAE as a leader in food security and further develop the largest fodder market in the Middle East.

Al Ameri added that the app supports Abu Dhabi’s goals of achieving food security and promoting sustainability in agriculture through innovative solutions. It aims to reduce the time and effort needed for purchasing fodder, assisting breeders in making informed decisions and improving production efficiency to support the livestock sector's growth.

The app features a user-friendly interface, allowing livestock breeders to browse various fodder types, compare options, and easily add items to their shopping cart. Users can personal accounts to track their orders and access exclusive offers. Additionally, the app supports the Fodder Market Programme by providing sustainable solutions that help local fodder products reach the market.

Al Ameri emphasized that the application connects fodder buyers from all emirates with ADAFSA-accredited suppliers, bolstering the local economy and strengthening the agricultural supply chain to ensure sustainability in both plant and livestock sectors.

Accessible through the TAMM platform, the app streamlines the ordering process by allowing users to sort products by price and type. Its main interface enables users to categorize items based on animal type, manufacturer, or supplier and includes a feature to reorder previously purchased products.

The shopping cart displays the selected items, total price, and quantity, along with popular products. The app also includes a search function for fodder products and available discounts. Each product listing provides detailed information such as product name, packaging weight, country of origin, ingredients, usage instructions, and nutritional benefits, accompanied by clear images and suggestions for similar products.

The payment page offers various payment options, an order summary before purchase, delivery methods, and supplier contact information. The app also facilitates order confirmation, invoicing, and maintains a list of purchased items.
