Organized by the Cultural Affairs Department of the Sharjah Department of Culture in partnership with the Union of Muslim Scholars of South Sudan, the event is part of the broader Arab Poetry Forums initiative in Africa, aimed at promoting the Arabic language, enhancing the appreciation of classical Arabic poetry, and fostering its cultural presence.

The opening ceremony featured Dr. Mohammed Kai Lukwaj, President of the Union of Muslim Scholars of South Sudan, along with several Arab diplomats and enthusiasts of the Arabic language, including poets, intellectuals, and academics.
Dr. Mohammed Maj Riek, head of the organizing committee, expressed his joy at hosting the Arabic Poetry Forum for the third time, highlighting its significance in South Sudan’s cultural history. He also acknowledged H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi's role in promoting and preserving the Arabic language in Africa.

The forum featured nine poets: Qasim Barnaba Kasanga, Mohammed Suleiman, Mabior Sherilo, Fariol Jis, Intisar Ramadan, Salem Juma Bour, Scheherazade Kamel, Eliza Zakaria, and Deng Juma. Their performances showcased rich language use and diverse themes, filled with metaphors and vivid imagery.
