Dubai Fashion Week kicks off spring/summer 2025 programme tomorrow

emirates7 - Dubai Fashion Week (DFW), the city's official fashion event co-founded by Dubai Design District (d3) and the Arab Fashion Council, is set to launch its Spring/Summer 2025 edition tomorrow, Monday, 2nd September.

The event will usher in a week-long celebration of trendsetting styles and exclusive launches, further solidifying Dubai's position as a global fashion hub. The spotlight will be on both established and emerging designers from around the globe.

The first three days of this premier regional fashion showcase will feature haute couture collections, beginning with Rizman Ruzaini, the designer duo known for dressing celebrities, on the opening day. Following this, on 2nd September, there will be an exclusive presentation from the acclaimed Spanish designer Adolfo Dominguez, and on 3rd September, the homegrown, d3-based fashion icon Keepa will take center stage.

Keepa, led by French Egyptian designer Mariam Yeya, known for her avant-garde fashion approach and innovative storytelling, will present the brand’s Spring/Summer 2025 collection titled *Need Therapy*. This collection will debut through an exclusive short film, produced in collaboration with VOX Cinemas, that sheds light on the often-overlooked challenges of daily life, reminding the audience that they are not alone.

The haute couture segment of DFW will offer an array of high fashion and personalized shopping experiences, curated in collaboration with leading retailers. Following this, the focus will shift to ready-to-wear collections from over 30 brands hailing from France, India, Indonesia, Italy, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Malaysia, Palestine, Russia, the United Arab Emirates, and the United Kingdom, featuring both DFW regulars and new international and regional designers.

On 6th September, the world-renowned Italian fashion house Roberto Cavalli will bring the Spring/Summer 2025 (SS 2025) runway shows to a close with a luxury collection curated specifically for DFW. The final day will be dedicated to private appointments and a buyers' market, offering an intimate setting for industry professionals to connect and collaborate.

A significant highlight of DFW is the introduction of "La Moda Italiana: Dubai Edition," which marks its debut this year. Presented in partnership with the Italian Trade Agency, this inaugural event will run from 1st to 3rd September and will feature a three-day exhibition, offering attendees and buyers a unique chance to explore exquisite Italian craftsmanship and fashion. The exhibition will showcase a variety of fashion categories, with 25 carefully selected Italian brands displaying clothing, footwear, leather goods, and eyewear, reflecting the deepening cultural and economic ties between Italy and the UAE.

Now in its third edition, *Thread Talks 3.0* will bring together some of the most influential voices in the industry to discuss the future of fashion at the local, regional, and global levels. Scheduled for 4th September, this season's exclusive panel discussion is the result of a dynamic partnership between Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, and DFW. *Thread Talks 3.0* will delve into the challenges and opportunities emerging in the fashion industry, offering valuable insights from key thought leaders and buyers.

DFW's immersive fashion experience extends beyond the runway, with brands hosting private dinners for media and industry leaders. Highlights include private dinners, a buyers' lunch hosted by d3, a global design and creativity hub by TECOM Group PJSC, an exclusive collection reveal and dinner by Bil Arabi, a private event by Swarovski, an industry roundtable hosted by Instagram, and a grand closing celebration by Kiko Milano at The One and Only.

These events offer unparalleled networking opportunities and a deeper engagement with the fashion industry. Among the prestigious sponsors, Persil stands out by promoting sustainability and highlighting the importance of fabric care in extending the life of garments. The relaunch of Persil Shampoo focuses on preserving the beauty and longevity of clothing, thereby reducing the need for frequent replacements. This partnership represents a new era where fashion meets responsible consumption, aligning with DFW's commitment to promoting sustainable fashion.
