emirates7 - Maqsoud Kruse, Chairperson of the National Human Rights Institution (NHRI), and a delegation from the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU), discussed enhancing cooperation in scientific research, developing curricula and empowering students in the field of human rights.
The UAEU delegation was headed by Prof. Dr. Ahmed Ali Murad, Associate Provost for Research at UAEU.
During the meeting, held at the NHRI headquarters in Abu Dhabi, Kruse said that the cooperation with UAEU aligns with efforts to enhance partnerships with academic institutions and research centres to promote the protection of human rights, and qualify human rights research specialists.
For his part, Prof. Murad affirmed that the partnership with the NHRI is necessary to promote human rights protection across society and to contribute to enhancing the UAE's leadership and reputation in the human rights field.
He added that they will be working to develop relevant educational and awareness academic programmes and scientific research that help achieve tangible results.
The meeting was attended by a number of officials, academics and specialists from both parties.
