emirates7 - Rain is forecast across parts of the UAE on Tuesday as temperatures climb to 48°C, with unsettled conditions expected to persist through the week and winds strengthening to as much as 55km/h on Wednesday.
The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) said conditions would be fair to partly cloudy on Tuesday, with convective clouds developing over eastern and southern areas during the afternoon and bringing a chance of rainfall.
The forecast follows rain over parts of Al Ain on Monday, including Sa’a, Al Fou’ah and the Khatm Al Shakla road, as summer convective weather continued across the country's east.
The UAE is currently under the influence of an extension of a surface low-pressure system from the east, accompanied by an upper-air low-pressure system.
Temperatures will remain high, particularly inland, where maximums are forecast at between 44°C and 48°C. Coastal areas and islands could reach 38°C to 43°C, while mountain temperatures will range from 33°C to 37°C.
Winds will be light to moderate, strengthening at times around clouds and reaching 45km/h in internal and mountainous areas, potentially stirring up dust. Humidity will increase overnight, with a chance of mist over some western coastal areas on Wednesday morning. Seas will remain slight in the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea.
Conditions are expected to become more unsettled on Wednesday, when rain-bearing convective clouds could spread from eastern and southern areas into parts of the interior. Winds may reach 55km/h, raising dust and sand.
Rain remains possible over eastern and southern areas on Thursday. Convective clouds are forecast mainly in the east on Friday, with another chance of rainfall on Saturday.
