Ministry of Education launches Specialised Training Week for 24,000 educators

emirates7 - The Ministry of Education (MoE) has launched its Specialised Training Week, set to run from 24th to 28th August 2026, marking a key milestone in preparation for the 2026-2027 academic year.

Designed to align national talent with global educational advancements, the initiative equips educators with cutting-edge methodologies and modern technologies to elevate the quality of the UAE's education ecosystem.

Spanning five days, the initiative features more than 80 targeted programmes and hybrid workshops tailored to more than 24,000 school leaders, teachers, advisors and support staff.

Delivered in person and remotely, this agile training model ensures flexible, nationwide participation to maximise professional development impact.

Sarah Al Amiri, Minister of Education, emphasised that continuous professional development is the cornerstone of modernising the UAE’s education system. Dhe stated, "The Specialised Training Week serves as a strategic national platform to integrate artificial intelligence, foster institutional innovation and empower our educators to lead sustainable, world-class academic environments."

Al Amiri added that the training programme is directly mapped to the practical needs of the educational field. By focusing on peer-to-peer knowledge exchange and experiential learning, the Ministry aims to translate training directly into classroom excellence and enhanced student outcomes.

This year’s curriculum prioritises high-impact strategic areas, including AI integration in classrooms, inclusive education, academic and professional mentoring, school life quality, data-driven assessment, gifted student development, school safety, the sciences of learning, institutional excellence and leadership and innovation, as well as multi-level support models, among others. These programmes empower educators to actively modernise their daily teaching frameworks.

The Specialised Training Week outlines a dedicated development pathway for 1,700 school leaders, including 500 principals and 1,200 vice principals. Key programmes such as the Leadership Competencies Lab focus on data-driven decision-making, AI application and anchoring school culture in national identity and Emirati values.

The initiative bridges professional development and daily school operations through applied training, interactive labs and real-world case studies.

By integrating professional learning into the daily school environment, the Ministry ensures that training outcomes directly enhance school performance and elevate educational quality from day one of the academic year.
