Dubai Airports prepares to support pilgrims for Hajj 2025

emirates7 - Dubai Airports has rolled out a comprehensive operational plan at Dubai International Airport (DXB) to ensure the smooth departure and return of pilgrims for Hajj 2025.

This initiative highlights the airport’s dedication to delivering a seamless and supportive travel experience during one of the busiest times of the year.

Around 3,100 pilgrims will depart from DXB on 28 special flights operated by Emirates, flydubai, Saudia, and flynas. The official Government of Dubai delegation will begin their journey on the first official Hajj flight from Terminal 3 on June 1st.

To guarantee a hassle-free process, Dubai Airports, together with the oneDXB community—including Dubai Police, General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs-Dubai (GDRFA), Dubai Customs, Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services, dnata, and airline partners—has put several measures in place.

These include dedicated check-in counters at Terminals 1, 2, and 3, prayer rooms and changing facilities for Ihram preparation in all terminals, multilingual Guest Experience Ambassadors, and Hajj Committee support desks. Specific baggage carousels have been designated to securely handle Zamzam water.

Pilgrims are advised to arrive at the airport at least four hours before their flight and ensure they carry all necessary travel documents such as their passport, Emirates ID, Hajj permit, and vaccination certificate.

Essa Al Shamsi, Senior Vice President of Terminal Operations at Dubai Airports, stated, “With the support of our team and the oneDXB community, we aim to make sure every pilgrim departs confidently and returns comfortably.”

The returning pilgrims are expected between June 9th and 12th, with arrangements in place to warmly welcome them, assist with baggage, and offer a small gift upon arrival.

The Hajj period overlaps with the summer travel peak and the Eid Al Adha holiday, during which DXB expects a significant rise in passenger numbers.
