Emirates expands retrofitted A380, Boeing 777 services footprint to 8 more cities

emirates7 - Emirates is set to introduce its newly upgraded Boeing 777 and Airbus A380 aircraft to eight additional destinations in the coming months.

The airline will deploy its revamped A380s to Bangkok, Hong Kong, Nice, and Perth, while the enhanced Boeing 777s will serve Madrid, Kuala Lumpur, Phuket, and Frankfurt. In addition, a newly refurbished Boeing 777 will soon operate flights to Dublin.

Emirates’ ambitious cabin retrofit programme is progressing at a remarkable speed, with teams at the Emirates Engineering Centre working around the clock to complete a full makeover of one wide-body aircraft approximately every three weeks.

Later this year, Emirates will also take delivery of its first long-range Airbus A350, which will debut on flights to Adelaide starting 1 December.

Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, commented, “Expanding the rollout of our refurbished A380s, upgraded Boeing 777s, and the addition of new A350s will offer customers across more than 70 global destinations access to our latest premium onboard experience, alongside our award-winning service. Our accelerated refurbishment programme means that by the end of this year, Emirates will be firmly positioned as a leader in Premium Economy offerings.”

He added, “Over the next two years, we will solidify our status as the market leader in Premium Economy. Expanding this cabin option enhances our appeal to travellers seeking elevated experiences, and strengthens our competitive edge. Introducing the A350 to Adelaide highlights our commitment to Australia and reinforces its role as a key hub in our eastbound network. This new aircraft will offer passengers a best-in-class long-haul journey.”

By the close of 2025, Emirates anticipates having five A350s in service, configured with 32 lie-flat Business Class seats in a 1-2-1 layout, 28 Premium Economy seats, and 238 spacious Economy Class seats.

Since launching the refurbishment programme in November 2022, Emirates has modernised the interiors of 51 Airbus A380s and Boeing 777s, now flying across 38 cities.

The airline’s broader plan involves the complete overhaul of 219 aircraft — 110 Airbus A380s and 109 Boeing 777s.

This extensive US $5 billion investment, unprecedented in the aviation sector, is focused on transforming the customer experience onboard.

Expertly managed by Emirates Engineering, more than 270 engineers and technicians dedicate over 1,800 man-hours daily to complete each aircraft's transformation.

Retrofitting an A380 typically takes 22 days, while a Boeing 777 requires about 18 days.

Each month, two refurbished aircraft are introduced, either to open new routes or to enhance existing services with refreshed cabins.
