Dubai and Abu Dhabi face scorching heat

emirates7 - The UAE is grappling with intense summer heat as the week begins, with soaring temperatures reported across the country and a chance of rainfall in eastern regions, according to forecasts by AccuWeather and the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).

In Dubai, the weather today is expected to be extremely hot and sunny, with daytime highs reaching 42°C. Nighttime temperatures will stay warm, dropping only to around 35°C. Abu Dhabi will experience even more severe heat, with maximum temperatures climbing to 45°C. Authorities have warned that outdoor activities could pose health risks due to the extreme conditions. Evening temperatures in the capital will cool only slightly, settling at 34°C.

The NCM anticipates generally clear to partly cloudy skies, with the potential for convective clouds to develop in eastern areas. This may lead to afternoon rain showers, a weather pattern likely to persist through Sunday.

On Monday, the highest recorded temperature in the UAE was a scorching 48.4°C in Bada Dafas, located in the Al Dhafrah region, around 4pm—underscoring the brutal heatwave sweeping the nation.

Forecasted temperature ranges include:

44°C to 49°C in interior regions
40°C to 45°C along coastal and island areas
34°C to 39°C in mountainous zones

Winds are expected to be light to moderate, occasionally strengthening during the day and stirring up dust in exposed areas. Wind speeds will vary between 10 and 25 km/h, with gusts reaching up to 40 km/h, coming from the southeast to northeast.

Sea conditions will remain calm in both the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.

Authorities are urging residents to stay well-hydrated, limit sun exposure during peak hours, and monitor official weather updates for any advisories.
