China's bond market issuances reach 7.2 trillion yuan in May

emirates7 - Data released by the People's Bank of China revealed that bond issuances in May 2025 totaled around 7.2 trillion yuan (approximately US$1 trillion).

The central bank reported that treasury bond issuances reached 1.49 trillion yuan, while local government bonds accounted for 779.44 billion yuan.

Financial bonds made up 1.22 trillion yuan of the total, and corporate credit bonds amounted to 902.27 billion yuan.

By the end of May, the total value of bonds held in custody stood at 187.2 trillion yuan.
