Korea, Indonesia to bolster economic, defence cooperation

emirates7 - President Lee Jae Myung of South Korea and Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto on Monday agreed to enhance collaboration in trade, technology, and the defence and arms sectors, according to a statement from the presidential office.

During their first phone conversation since President Lee took office earlier this month, the two leaders explored ways to deepen the Special Strategic Partnership that was established between their nations in 2017.

Presidential spokesperson Kang Yu-jung, in a written statement shared by Yonhap News Agency, noted that the leaders committed to bolstering strategic cooperation across various areas, including trade and investment, cutting-edge industries shaped by digital and green transformations, and the defence and arms sectors.

They also pledged to maintain regular communication and jointly advance bilateral relations while supporting peace and stability in the region.
