Additionally, the share of incoming visitor expenditures in the total exports of these countries is projected to rise to 13.4 percent.
The Centre also highlighted consistent improvements across various tourism-related metrics in the GCC region.
According to the data, total international visitor spending in the GCC reached US$135.5 billion in 2023, marking a 28.9 percent growth compared to 2019 figures.
Moreover, GCC countries topped the Middle East and North Africa region in the 2024 Safety and Security Index. Each GCC country scored higher than the regional average of 5.86 points, with the index scored on a scale of 1 to 7. They also ranked among the top six countries in the Arab world in terms of passport strength.
