emirates7 - Dubai Chambers hosted a high-level delegation from Uzbekistan today, led by Laziz Kudratov, the country’s Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade, for the Dubai-Uzbekistan Business Seminar.
The seminar brought together around 100 business leaders and served as a vital platform to deepen economic ties and explore opportunities for boosting trade and investment between the two sides.
Senior Uzbek government officials, including deputy ministers and regional governors, attended alongside key representatives from the business communities of both Dubai and Uzbekistan.
Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers, highlighted the importance of the event, stating that it builds on the notable growth in trade between Dubai and Uzbekistan. He expressed eagerness to uncover new avenues for collaboration and affirmed Dubai Chambers’ commitment to helping Uzbek businesses tap into Dubai’s strategic advantages—such as its world-class infrastructure and global connectivity—to expand internationally.
Lootah reiterated the Chamber’s support for Uzbek companies establishing a presence in Dubai and emphasized its role in facilitating their success and integration into the emirate’s dynamic economy.
The seminar featured detailed presentations on the investment and business climates in both Dubai and Uzbekistan. Discussions focused on identifying complementary strengths and fostering mutually beneficial partnerships to further enhance bilateral trade and investment flows.
Non-oil trade between Dubai and Uzbekistan recorded a 66% year-on-year increase in 2024, surpassing AED 11.1 billion. Key Uzbek exports to Dubai include copper, zinc, precious metals and stones, and agricultural products such as fruits and nuts. Meanwhile, Dubai exports electronics, vehicles, machinery, perfumes, and precious stones to Uzbekistan. Both sides explored ways to expand trade by capitalizing on each country’s economic strengths.
The growing footprint of Uzbek businesses in Dubai was also highlighted. By the end of 2024, over 700 Uzbek companies were registered with the Dubai Chamber of Commerce—a 34.5% increase from the previous year. This momentum continued into 2025, with over 60 new Uzbek firms joining the chamber in the first quarter alone, reinforcing the strong and expanding economic partnership.
