UAE showcases rich cultural identity at Beijing International Book Fair

emirates7 - The United Arab Emirates is taking part in the 31st edition of the Beijing International Book Fair, held at the China National Convention Centre from June 18 to 22.

The UAE’s prominent participation is highlighted through a national pavilion that showcases the country’s vibrant and diverse cultural landscape. Organised by the UAE Embassy in Beijing in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, the pavilion reflects the nation’s rich heritage and artistic contributions.

By engaging in this global cultural event, the UAE aims to introduce key aspects of Emirati heritage to the Chinese audience and spotlight the leading figures shaping its cultural identity. The participation also seeks to deepen collaboration with China's publishing and cultural sectors, explore new areas for cooperation, and build strong partnerships with major Chinese institutions involved in the creative and cultural industries.

The pavilion features a comprehensive programme that includes panel discussions, networking events, official visits, and the signing of cultural cooperation agreements. This initiative supports the UAE’s broader vision of cultural exchange and its commitment to enhancing its presence on the global cultural stage.

UAE Ambassador to China, Hussain bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi, officially opened the UAE pavilion, accompanied by Mubarak Al Nakhi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture, and several Emirati and Chinese dignitaries.

Renowned as one of the most significant cultural gatherings worldwide, the Beijing International Book Fair draws thousands of publishers, writers, intellectuals, and visitors each year, offering a vital platform for fostering international collaboration in knowledge sharing, publishing, and academic innovation.
